
Chapter Founded: 2014
The Ithaca College chapter founded the New York Film and Television Student Alliance in 2014 and has been growing it's membership every since.

The Ithaca College chapter held the first inauguration summit in 2014. The summit is held each academic year at either Ithaca College or Fordham University giving students from across the state the opportunity to take part in this professional career building event.

Members of the Ithaca College chapter traveled to New York City for a learning experience in the television/film industry in April 2023. Students met with industry professionals, Park School alumni, toured museum and film sets and experienced the city. They also got to meet with the LIU Brooklyn NYFTSA chapter.

MEET THE TEAM

Alysia Parks
President
​Alysia is currently a rising senior at Ithaca College majoring in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts, and minoring in Biology.
Alysia enjoys editing, directing, and taking photos. She also has an appreciation for nature and hopes to get involved in nature documentaries. Alysia also aspires to be an editor, eventually specializing in VFX or CGI. During her time at Ithaca she has been a part of ICTV working as a camera operator and editor. She has also worked on various film sets as an editor, assitant director, assistant camera operator, and more. She hopes to keep learning more positions and make connections in her time here in this organization and at Ithaca.
Outside of film and photography, Alysia works at Tractor Supply, enjoys fishing, and has an intership in social media editing.

Nick Polisi
Vice President & State Representative
My name is Nick Polisi, I am a Junior TVDM major. I am the Vice President of NYFTSA. I have been a part of the club for over 2 years now. Outside NYFTSA I am the Director of Programming for ICTV and I’m an Operations Manager at the Campus Center. This semester is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see what the club will accomplish together!

Harrison Chinchar
Travel Coordinator and Treasurer
Harrison Chinchar is currently a junior at Ithaca College majoring in Film with a minor in Writing for Screen Media. He joined NYFTSA his sophomore year and is the Travel Coordinator / Treasurer. He is also the Director of Development for Ithaca College Television.

Hi! I’m Kayleigh and I’m the Assistant Treasurer and Travel Coordinator. I’m a first year Television, Photography and Digital Media major with an Audio Production minor. I can’t wait to see what this semester brings!

Zoe Ennis
Social Media Director
Hi, I’m Zoe! I’m a Senior standing Theatre Administration major with a minor in Marketing. I absolutely adore what NYFTSA brings to the IC communtiy and am thrilled to be a part of the E-Board this semester. When not in Dillingham, I’m also involved with Her Campus and freelance content create for various theatrical productions.
Sabrina Layman

Assitant Social Media Director
My name is Sabrina Layman. I am a Sophomore Film BFA major with a minor in Screenwriting. I am the Social Media Director for NYFTSA. Outside of NYFTSA, I am the Scripted Director on ICTV’s Executive Staff and I work at the Park Cafe. During the warmer months, you can find me at IC’s Running Club. I’m excited to be a part of the E-Board and can’t wait to meet all of you during the meetings and social events!

Sofia Soto
Events Planner
Hi! My name is Sofia Soto, and I am the event planner for NYFSTA. I am a TVDM major with a minor in writing! In my free time I am heavily involved with ICTV. You will either find me in the control room or at the rock climbing wall in the Fit. I have been a part of NYFTSA for almost four semesters now and I am very excited to see where this semester takes us!

Chrissy Guest
Faculty Advisor
Chrissy Guest is the founding faculty member of the New York Film Television Student Alliance. She serves as the Ithaca College chapter advisor as well as the Advisory Chair for NYFTSA statewide.
An award winning educator, she teaches television production courses at the Roy H. Park School of Communications. She has approached media from several angles over the course of her career, having worked as a photojournalist, producer, director, writer, art director, news assignment editor and numerous other roles behind the scenes. She is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker for Infinite Hope: MLK and the Civil Rights Movement, airing nationally on PBS. Guest currently channels her practical experience and knowledge into future generations by teaching at Ithaca College and developing new curriculum, immersive work experiences and degree programs in an ever-innovating industry. Guest earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing and her B.S. Cultural Studies, Television and Radio Production. She is passionate about inspiring future filmmakers who want to tell stories through moving pictures, whether live-action or animated.
